Buying Guide

Buying your first home is one of life's most exciting landmarks. We will do everything we can to make the whole process as enjoyable and as stress free as possible. The Plumlife sales team will guide you step-by-step through the whole process.

Buying your Plumlife home can be very easy. You just need to follow this simple guide: 

Find A Property

  • Search all low cost home ownership developments available across Greater Manchester, Lancashire and South Yorkshire using the Property Search function. 

Apply

  • Complete our online application form.
  • Once we have received your completed online application form, we require photocopies of 3 months wage slips or your most recent  P60 and any proof of savings you may have, if you currently rent off a social landlord e.g. a housing association or local authority we will also require an up to date rent statement.
  • If you are not eligible or we are unable to offer you a property we will write to you explaining why.

View

  • Plumlife or a partner housing association will contact you to make an appointment to view the development and/or property of your choice
  • Your details will be forwarded to all developing housing associations within the area(s) you have requested. They will contact you direct to arrange viewings.

Reserve Your Property

  • If you wish to reserve a Plumlife property you need to pay a non-refundable reservation fee. The Plumlife sales team will look after you from here on and confirm your reservation in writing once they have received your deposit
  • Plumlife sales team will update the progress of your mortgage application and purchase which you will be able to view on this website

Completion

  • Move in. Your sales advisor will meet you on the day of completion and hand over the property to you

After care

  • Once you are in your new Plumlife property, Plumlife management will then take over from the sales team and look after your rent account and any problems that you have with your property during the defects liability period (where applicable)
  • If you wish to purchase a property from a partner housing association you will need to keep in contact with them. They may have different arrangements for keeping you informed of progress
