Emergency help
If you are ill or in difficulties Plumlife can try to contact relatives, friends, the doctor, ambulance or social services on your behalf. In the case of emergencies a speedy response is essential, therefore we ask all residents to help by providing up to date information. All information provided will be treated by Plumlife as confidential.
Please provide the following emergency information for Plumlife:
- an up to date list of emergency contacts
- details of any particular medical problems from which you may suffer
- any special instructions on action to be taken in particular circumstances
Methodist careline good neighbour system
Some schemes have a Good Neighbour system which works as follows:
When the alarm is activated in a flat a neon indicator on the display unit in the flat will show the number. At the same time the number will light up in all the other flats in the estate. After a few seconds an audio alarm will also sound. If possible the emergency should be investigated by the other residents unless it is dangerous to do so.
Residents on the estate are given the emergency contact numbers for their neighbours so that anyone who is alerted by the alarm can quickly call for help. Failing this the emergency services should be contacted.
The activated alarm can be muted by placing the jack plug supplied into the socket on the display unit but the illuminated number can only be cancelled from within the flat displayed. This ensures an alarm cannot be deactivated until the resident receives assistance.
