"The fact I have something to call my own is everything and more."
That’s the view of 31-year-old Nursing Assistant, Stevie Walsh, after she moved into her new home at the Radclyffe Gardens development in Chadderton.
After renting for about a year, Stevie was looking to stay nearby and the new development, located in Chadderton, fitted the bill perfectly.
Talking of her decision to buy a new home at Radclyffe Gardens, Stevie said:
“My family is split between New Moston and Chadderton so the location was perfect. When I had a look at the show home, I was amazed by the size of the rooms. My dad, who was in construction, came to look at the house with me and we were really impressed by the quality of the build and the spacious rooms. That made the decision to reserve the property even easier.”
After deciding to move forward with the purchase, Stevie put down a deposit and now owns a 45% share of her three-bedroom property.
She added: “The sales staff were fantastic and were all very helpful and approachable, they made the process pretty straightforward.
“I can’t express how happy and content I am in my new home.
“I have fabulous neighbours, which is so important as I work nights, I don't hear a peep when I’m asleep during the day – even though there is still building going on.
“We have a lovely little community on the cul-de-sac and we are building great friendships already.
“I love being in my new house and I’m looking forward to putting my stamp on it. It’s somewhere that I can live for a long time and be very happy.”
When asked if Stevie would recommend the Shared Ownership scheme to friends, she explained:
“I have already referred some of my friends to think about buying a Shared Ownership home of their own. It’s given me the chance to own a fantastic home sooner than I might have been able to and that’s made a real difference to me.”
