How Staircasing helped Awadhesh buy 100% of his home
For Awadesh and his family, a drive through Gorton led to a life-changing event. It was on a trip out that Awadesh drove past Plumlife’s Belle Vue development when he spotted signage advertising new homes and decided to investigate. And the rest, as they say is history!
How it started
Awadesh was initially able to buy a 70% share in his new home through Shared Ownership. Two years later when his circumstances changed following a salary increase, he was able to buy the remaining 30% share, meaning he now owns his home outright.
Awadesh said: “With the deposit I had, it wasn’t possible for me to buy a home on the open market – especially a new build. But I was fortunate that I was able to buy a 70% share in a brand-new home, thanks to Shared Ownership.”
“This was a brilliant option for us, and the location of the home was great too.”
He added: “After living in the property for two years, we found that the energy bills were so much less than our previous home and we were able to save to be able to buy the remaining shares.
“It’s an energy-efficient home which is important when the energy bills are so high.
“We enjoyed living there as it’s a nice estate and we have nice neighbours, so we decided to buy 100 per cent of the home.”
